The New York Knicks didn’t just open their second-round series with a win they delivered a message loud enough to echo across the league.
The Knicks didn’t just beat the 76ers they took control of the game from the jump and never let go in a 137-98 blowout. What they’re building right now feels bigger than just a win streak. This isn’t about grinding out close games it’s about playing sharp, confident basketball and setting the tone from start to finish.
Jalen Brunson once again proved to be the engine behind it all, dropping 35 points with efficiency. He did most of his damage before halftime, setting the tone early and putting Philadelphia on its heels. By the time the break hit, it already felt like the game was out of reach.
But this Knicks run isn’t about one player it’s about a system clicking at the right time. OG Anunoby’s efficiency, Karl-Anthony Towns’ all-around production, and Mikal Bridges’ steady presence created a balanced attack that overwhelmed the 76ers on both ends of the floor.
New York’s offensive rhythm was undeniable, shooting over 60% from the field while consistently finding clean looks. More importantly, their defensive pressure disrupted Philadelphia’s core. Joel Embiid struggled to find his groove, while Tyrese Maxey and Paul George couldn’t quite get going or do enough to change the flow of the game.
What makes this run stand out isn’t just the wins it’s the way they’re getting them. The Knicks aren’t just beating teams; they’re running them off the floor. Game after game, they’ve jumped out early, built big leads, and faced little pushback along the way.
Still, inside the locker room, there’s no celebration just focus. The message remains simple: the job isn’t close to finished.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, has a lot to figure out. After the high of their last series, they now look disconnected and outmatched. With the series about to shift home, the pressure is already on to turn things around quickly.
