Portland didn’t panic they turned the game completely around. Down big in the fourth and staring at a tough 0-2 hole, the Trail Blazers turned chaos into opportunity Tuesday night, rallying past San Antonio 106-103 after Victor Wembanyama exited early with a concussion. The win ties the series at 1-1 and suddenly puts pressure on the Spurs.

Scoot Henderson was in full attack mode, dropping 31 points with confidence and control. He set the tone all night, slicing through the defense and knocking down shots from deep like he knew the moment was his.

San Antonio looked like they had things locked up even without their superstar. After Wembanyama went down in the second quarter following a hard fall that sent him face first into the floor, the Spurs still managed to build a 14-point lead early in the fourth. But once the game tightened, their offense stalled at the worst possible time.

Portland locked in defensively when it mattered most, holding the Spurs without a field goal for the final 3:37. That’s when the comeback turned real.

An 11-2 closing run flipped everything. The biggest moment came in the final seconds when Deni Avdija powered into the lane and dropped a perfect feed to Robert Williams III for a clutch alley-oop slam, putting Portland ahead for good.

The Spurs had one last look, but Devin Vassell’s three pointer at the buzzer didn’t fall, sealing a rare late-game slip up for San Antonio.

In fact, they hadn’t blown a fourth-quarter lead that large in the playoffs in over two decades.

It wasn’t just one guy keeping Portland in it they got help across the board. Jrue Holiday dropped 16 points and handed out nine assists, Avdija added 14, and Williams made his presence felt on both ends of the floor.

Without Wembanyama holding things down, San Antonio never really found its flow on either end. Stephon Castle led the way with 18, and De’Aaron Fox and Devin Vassell did what they could, but they couldn’t slow down the shift in momentum.

Now all eyes shift to Wembanyama’s status. With concussion protocol in play, there’s real uncertainty about how long the 7-foot-4 center could be sidelined and that could change everything about this series.

Game 3 heads to Portland on Friday, where the Blazers now have life, confidence, and a crowd ready to turn up.
